The opening of the first ever major Kovasznai Retrospective took place exactly 10 years ago at the Hungarian National Gallery. This show was the first step towards establishing Kovasznai’s crucial role within the history of Hungarian and international contemporary art, as he had had no opportunity to exhibit his work during his lifetime and his films had only been accessible in cinemas for very limited periods of time. And what a journey the past decade has been following the Retrospective! Since 2010 Kovasznai's works have been extensively featured in exhibitions and film festivals all around the world and since 2018 the Ybl Creative House Buda has been the home of a permanent Kovasznai exhibition in Hungary.
